iOS has strict privacy settings and the likely cause is that Smoovie has been denied access to the camera roll by the system. This is especially common in educational establishments where an administrator may have deliberately set up restricted access. To correct the issue, from the Settings App, select the Privacy option. On the right-hand side of the screen you should now see a Photos option. Select this and you should be presented with the list of Apps requesting access to the camera roll. Smoovie should appear in this list. If it does not, ensure that the App has been run at least once on the iPad.
